Hakim Omar Khayyam

2019

This university project was based on one of the poems of Hakim Omar Khayyam, whose work often explores themes of time, existence, and the cyclical nature of life. The goal was to translate the philosophical depth of the poem into a visual and motion‑graphic interpretation that feels both modern and rooted in classical Persian aesthetics.

Design and Concept Development
I created a custom piece of Persian calligraphy, shaping the letterforms into an infinity symbol to represent Khayyam’s reflections on the endless cycle of life — the idea that existence has no clear beginning or end. The calligraphy itself becomes the structure of the infinity loop, merging poetry, philosophy, and visual design into a single symbolic form.
The artwork was first crafted by hand and refined digitally in Adobe Photoshop, where I developed the textures, contrast, and overall composition. I then brought the piece into Adobe After Effects, animating the calligraphic forms with smooth, subtle motion to reflect the calm, contemplative tone of Khayyam’s poetry.
To complete the project, I also composed the original music for the intro. The soundtrack is atmospheric and meditative, designed to support the visual rhythm and enhance the philosophical mood of the piece.
The final result is a modern visual interpretation of Khayyam’s timeless ideas — blending calligraphy, symbolism, animation, and music into a unified artistic experience
