Pardeh Khani
2024
This project is a full branding and intro design for a television program based on Pardeh‑Khani, the traditional Iranian art of storytelling. In this cultural practice, the storyteller stands in front of a large illustrated canvas and narrates the scenes depicted in the painting. The show aims to preserve this heritage while presenting it in a modern broadcast format.
Design and Concept Development
To create the intro, I selected several key moments from the traditional stories and reinterpreted them visually. Instead of static illustrations, I brought the characters to life with smooth, gentle motion, reflecting the fluid rhythm of oral storytelling. The goal was to maintain the authenticity of Pardeh‑Khani while giving it a contemporary visual identity suitable for television.
All visual elements were crafted using Adobe Photoshop for illustration and texture work, and Adobe After Effects for animation, compositing, and final visual refinement. The movement is subtle and respectful, echoing the calm, poetic nature of traditional narration.
To complete the experience, I also composed the original music for the intro. The soundtrack blends traditional atmosphere with modern cinematic tones, supporting the visuals and enhancing the emotional connection to the story.
The result is a modern interpretation of an ancient storytelling tradition — visually expressive, culturally rooted, and crafted with care across illustration, animation, and music.
