Hangzhou 2022

2022

For the 19th Asian Games, branded as Hangzhou 2022, our satellite TV channel needed a dedicated news segment to cover the event. Due to licensing restrictions, we were unable to use the official branding assets of the Games. This required creating a completely original visual identity that still captured the spirit, diversity, and energy of the competition.
The goal was to design an intro and visual package that felt modern, dynamic, and aligned with the atmosphere of a major international sporting event — while remaining fully unique and independent from the official branding.

Design and Production Process
To build a cohesive visual direction, I selected a set of the most important sports featured in the Games. Using Adobe Firefly, I generated custom images for each sport, ensuring all visuals shared a unified color palette, lighting style, and artistic tone. This created a consistent visual language across the entire package.
Next, I used Runway AI to transform the generated images into motion, bringing each sport to life with smooth, cinematic animation. These sequences became the foundation of the intro.
All elements were then brought into Adobe After Effects, where I handled the full post‑production process — editing, compositing, color treatment, and adding additional visual elements to enhance clarity and energy. I also selected a music track that matched the rhythm and intensity of the Games, completing the final audiovisual identity.
The result is a fully original, AI‑enhanced intro package that delivers the excitement of the Asian Games while respecting all branding limitations.
